What Breed Is Right For You?
Look we get it. Picking the right breed of dog is a big decision! We are here to give you all the deets on each of the breeds we offer to help you nail down the perfect fit for you!
Before we jump into each of the breeds we should touch on generations and what they mean for you. F1 means animal offspring resulting from a cross-mating of two different breed parental types. F1b means breeding a hybrid back to one of the breeds it originates from. Take a goldendoodle for instance. An F1 Goldendoodle has a Golden retriever and a Poodle as it’s parents. An F1b Goldendoodle has a Goldendoodle and a poodle as it’s parents. Clear as mud?
F1’s are typically bigger and may shed slightly. F1b generations are considered hypoallergenic and are typically smaller. There are always chances to get a bigger F1b and a smaller F1 but this is a generalization for the sake of this post.
Now to the fun stuff - the breeds! Let’s find the perfect one for you.
Bernedoodles - Bernedoodles are an amazing breed! They are goofy, chill and very loving!! They want to be with you all the time and are happy to be doing whatever you're doing. Bernese Mountain dogs are our mothers to our Bernedoodles. The Bernese Mountain Dog is known for it’s loyalty and fun personalities. Scout, one of our mamas is the sweetest girl and will always be by our side!
Bernedoodles range in weight F1’s weight between 35-50lbs with F1b’s weighing in around 15-35lbs. These are estimations as each dog is unique! Bernedoodles can have wavy to curly coats with F1b’s typically having a more curly coat which is common in most doodle breeds.
If you love the outdoors or going for walks a bernedoodle might be the breed for you! These dogs will go anywhere with you and have the stamina to do it too!
Cavapoos - Cavapoos are a wonderful breed. They are a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. Cavapoos are highly sought after because of their amazing temperaments and low to non shedding coat. Cavapoos are very loving and affectionate dogs. They want to be your best friend which means being involved in everything you do!
Cavapoos are a crowd favorite at Grace’s Puppies! They have the classic teddy bear look to them. F1’s weigh around 10-18lbs and F1b’s around 6-15lbs. F1’s usually have wavy coats and F1b’s can have either a wavy or curly coat.
Though small they are mighty! Our sweet London goes mountain biking, hiking and snowboarding with me. We like to say that the Cavapoo matches your energy. If you want to chill at home, they’re happy doing that! Want to go on a hike? They are happy to do it! As long as they are with you this breed is happy as can be.
Goldendoodles - Goldendoodles are a very happy go lucky breed. They are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Goldendoodles are highly sought after because of their amazing temperaments and low to non shedding coat. Goldendoodles are very happy & loving dogs. They want to be your best friend which means being involved in everything you do!
F1’s typically weight 25-45lbs and F1b’s weigh around 15-35lbs. Goldendoodles are a classic breed and can be a great way to get you outside! Though a bit bigger than a cavapoo they love to snuggle and be with you. More robust due to their size they go where you go and will want you to keep up with them! These are the go-getters who are excited to go where you’re going.
